Happy 17th Anniversary, Caledon! To celebrate, we are having our annual Caledon Rose Hunt from Saturday March 11th through Sunday March 19th, with roses hidden throughout Caledon for you to find.
- The hunt begins at 4pm SLT on Saturday. Most roses will be available then, but a few may appear later.
- If you see a rose, move within 8 meters of the rose, and then touch it to claim it. You will be offered the rose as inventory. If clicking doesn't work, there might be another prim in the way: try zooming in on it. If that doesn't work, take a picture of the rose, and IM Samm Florian (samm.florian).
- Roses will not disappear when claimed, but will stick around for other hunters to find too. You can try for the whole set if you like!
- You can see which roses are available, and which have been found (and by whom), by visiting the website http://rose.CalSL.com.
- Every Commonwealth sim has at least one rose. These roses are hidden on Commonwealth land, not private property. (You can use this free Public Land Detector HUD to help you determine what is Commonwealth land and what is out of bounds.) These are all hidden at "ground level"; that is, you can reach them without flying. The Steam SkyCity counts as "ground level". Tunnels are fair game even if they go below the water line, but otherwise roses are not hidden underwater. (Floating on the water is another story.)
- These rules do not necessarily apply for roses hidden in duchies or in Oxbridge! The Oxbridge roses are not in the Library, the Lecture Hall, or the tutorial buildings. (Please do not interrupt classes.)
Thanks to Cynthia Farshore, Zahra Ethaniel, and Lady Aeval-Leigh for making and hiding roses, thanks to Desmond Shang for being the Guvnah, and thanks to all of y'all, for bein' Caledonians: wouldn't be no place to hide the roses without you!
Good luck, and happy hunting!
